Merger of four GSK businesses into a single £1.5bn UK & Ireland business, including the acquisition of Maxinutrition

“…you’ve done tremendous work for us… We very much enjoyed working with you – you were a key part of the team that helped put this business together and we have much to be grateful for…”

— Peter Harding, General Manager, GSK UK & Ireland

GSK 1

As a member of newly formed GB&I Leadership team, a GPMIP Associate Partner led the programme to create a world-class, superior, and unified Consumer Healthcare business (including brands such as Sensodyne, Aquafresh, Ribena, Lucozade, MaxiNutrition, Panadol and Beechams.)

3 core objectives were delivered:

  • Created an integrated, single business, by merging four separate businesses, which collectively represented £1.5bn gross sales;
  • Accelerated growth levels from low single digit to high single digit by year 2 of implementation and to outgrow key competitors by delivering sustainable growth; and
  • Implemented key changes from strategic growth lever workstreams, including commercial execution, supply chain, category and brand management, talent and culture, and scientific innovation

This highly successful engagement led onto a further requirement to support the transformation of the global R&D function
